FM Sylvan Appoints Michael Herberholz Divisional Vice President

Industry Veteran Tapped to Lead Michigan Design & Build Team and Expand Government Industry Practice

Perth Amboy, NJ-September 8, 2009-FM Sylvan today announced the appointment of Michael Herberholz to Divisional Vice President. In his new role, Herberholz is chartered with growing the company's emerging government practice, which he founded. This includes defining strategy, and executing policies and processes that will better serve the industrial pipe fabrication and installation needs of government clients while allowing FM Sylvan to successfully bid government opportunities and establish a market leadership position in the government sector. He will continue to operate out of the company's Michigan office, directly reporting to COO and Managing Partner, Robert Metz.

Michael Herberholz brings more than 35 years of industrial service contracting experience to the role. He has extensive expertise in all aspects of the business. Since joining FM Sylvan in 2004, he has served as senior project manager, and has successfully bid a number of million dollar projects. In this capacity he has led a team of office staff, estimators, engineers, and project managers to monitor project billings, change orders, cash flow, and profit. During his tenure he has played a vital role in ensuring the success of high profile projects for clients such as the United States Postal Service, Ford, GM, and Chrysler. Most recently, he has managed FM Sylvan’s project with Walbridge at Volkswagen's first north American manufacturing facility in Chattanooga, TN.

Herberholz has deep expertise across a range of contracting disciplines and maintains numerous licenses in mechanical contracting, plumbing, welding, boiler/hot water heating & steam fitting, and HVAC in 10 states. He has completed numerous educational and training programs including: Schoolcraft College, Climate System Technology; Pipe fitter Local # 636, Steamfitter Apprenticeship; Certified in Plumbing Design; Safe2work Safety Training (14) Modules.
